Sometimes I feel like God gave me viewfinders for eyes. I can't help but to see my life as a series of potential photographs—its as if I walk through life constantly holding out my fingers composing my next shot of the scenery that is my life.
So few weeks ago I challenged myself to quit being such a ninny (and wrote about it here) when it came to doing what I had to do to actually get these shots my eyes were composing. And so far? Its been going pretty well! This weekend I challenged myself to go out and hunt for a shot that I could use on one of my freelance design projects, rather than purchasing a stock image. After two afternoons of hunting—I got my shot! And some others along the way:

this old tree
I've seen this tree a thousand times; on my way to here and there, serving weddings and bar mitzvahs in the old Inn tucked below its branches.

playing around
I've just recently taken my phone photo taking to the next level with some new apps and have been having fun playing around with them, combining their effects to see what I can come up with. These photos are from the wedding of my dear friends Kaye and Chad in September.

lately
As of late, I've been capturing moments and milestones in my life with my phone, via my favorite! app! ever! ShakeItPhoto.
I did the Hipstamatic thing for a while, and enjoyed it, but I began to be annoyed by the choices and options and could never quite get the effect that I was going for. And then I found ShakeItPhoto, which has one perfectly wonderful "instant camera" setting. And to boot, the photos even come out like a polaroid, and develop faster when you shake it! so fun. maybe almost too fun...
Its been snowing a lot here this month. In fact, I don't think I've seen grass since the very last day of November. It snowed on December 1st, and has kept snowing every few days. My roommate Kaye and I have been taking walks in the snow, shoveling snow, shopping in the snow, and generally just enjoying the snow. So I've taken quite a few pictures of the wonderful, magical snow. Here are a few... enjoy!
